We are here! The students had a long day of travel, but were met at the airport by our friends at La Anita Rainforest Ranch.  We drove to a roadside lunch restaurant that specializes in "casado" the traditional Costa Rican meal.  The direct translation of casado is "married man."  The meal consisted of rice, beans, plantains, salad and chicken.  After lunch we drove through a valley between two volcanoes stopping along the way for fresh pineapple from a roadside fruit vendor.  We reached La Anita at 4:00 pm, took time to freshen up, unpack and get a tour of the ranch.  Dinner was incredible fried tilapia, mashed yucca, vegetables, salad with an almond baked pudding (budin) sprinkled with chocolate nibs.  Needless to say the students are heading to bed with full stomachs.  Tomorrow begins with breakfast at 7:30.  Tomorrow Carter and Vincent will be our bloggers.
