Today was a very interesting day. The night in the cabin/dorm house was surprisingly cool. I was very surprised to wake up this morning and have the room be flooded with light at 6 am. When walking to breakfast it was as bright as it would be at noon back home. All meals of the day were very good, especially the palm heart salad which I was not expecting to like. Last thing about the food is that with every meal is fresh juice that changes everyday, at lunch there was lemonade with ginger and for dinner was Sour sop juice, Both very refreshing. For activities today we were shown the complete process of the production of Upala chocolate. The total process I personally thought would be much more complicated than it is. The employees of Upala really take pride in the quality of their product and that is their number one goal. The afternoon was filled with the beginning of our first experiment to just grow some microbes. By the end of the week we should have some results. Looking very much forward to bed tonight and a cold shower.
